Fernande Benoit, age 90, passed peacefully on January 21, 2018, in Montréal, Québec. She was the daughter of Blanche Hamel and Honoré Benoit.
A great enthusiast of literature, Fernande completed a degree in literary studies in post-war Paris. She pursued with a career in Radio-Canada’s programming services. At age 45, Fernande chose a new vocation in social work dedicating herself to the Centre-sud neighbourhood as well as the DPJ. Fernande is survived by several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind Pierre, Francis, Charles, and Bernard from her sister Madeleine; from her brother Hamel, Pierre, Jean, and Marie-Josée. Also, from her eldest brother Hubert, she leaves nephew Michel (and partner Rosa María), niece Guylaine, and great-niece Mélina.
The family would like to thank the staff of the CLSC-CDN, particularly nurse Kathy Fus and physician Sylvie Boulet.
A service will be held at St-Matthias Church (171 Côte St. Antoine Road in Westmount) on Thursday February 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
