With heavy hearts, the family of Carmen Turcotte Hemens announces her passing on April 19, 2018 after a long illness.
Carmen lived her life through the arts, first through the brushstrokes on a canvas and later through the intricate wood carvings inspired by her everyday life.
She is pre-deceased by her loving husband James W. Hemens, Q.C.. She leaves behind her sister Anita Pepper (John), six children: Ann Sears (Allan), Deborah Hemens, Madeleine Perreaux (Roger), Jim Hemens, William Hemens (Christine), Beth Desmarais (Phil), 9 grandchildren: Daniel and Allison Sears, Brian (Hermia) Hemens, Dominique and Christina Hemens, Phillip (Katherine) Hemens, Christy Perreaux, Anna and Kate Desmarais, and 4 great-grandchildren: Maggie and Brendan Sears, Alexis Perreaux-Hebert and Andrew Hemens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive condolences on Sunday April 22nd from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Boulevard, Montreal QC (corner Isabella). A Funeral Mass will be held at the Ascension of Our Lord Church, Westmount (corner of Sherbrooke and Kitchener) on Monday April 23rd at 12:30p.m.
