McDonald Mary Julia
May 21, 1927 – April 23, 2018
Mary was born in Toronto and moved to Montreal with her family in 1933 where she lived until the age of 90.
She was a dedicated teacher, guidance counsellor, principal and administrator with the Montreal Catholic School Commission. She later worked with the Archdiocese of Montreal.
Mary was pre-deceased by her parents Teresa and Charles, brother John, and nephew Kevin. She leaves behind her sisters Aileen Kilbertus and Teresa Begin, brother Father Jim McDonald, sister-in-law Denyse Ethier McDonald, and dear friend Marjorie Smith. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Ann (Michael), Frances (Vincent), Michael (Nataly), Paul, Philip (Sherri), Jimmy, Joanne (Steve), and Anne Marie (Patrick); and great nieces and nephews: Lara, Luka, Noémi, Tristan, William, Olivier, Raphåel, Alicia, and Mathis.
Mary was smart, kind, generous and always available to help. She enjoyed the companionship of family and friends, good books and conversation, and lived her life to the full.
A celebration of her life to be held at St. Monica’s Parish on Thursday, May 24 at 11 am. Family will receive condolences at 10 am.
