Where do I start with the paperwork once the funeral is over?

Once the funeral is over, it is sometimes overwhelming to think about all the paperwork that needs to be completed to start to settle the estate of the deceased. Our experienced aftercare counsellor will walk you through the process with a comprehensive checklist to ensure you don't forget anything.

  • She will also take care of applying for all applicable benefits from government and complete all necessary paperwork, including mailing and follow-up.
  • She will conduct a will search to prove the validity of the last will and testament of the deceased, apply for the official death certificate from the Quebec government, required by the Chambre des Notaires, and bring the request directly to their offices.
  • Did you know that you may have access to inheritance money that you did not know existed? Our counsellor will verify all avenues for you.
  • No will? Our counsellor will guide you through the necessary steps to rectify the situation.
  • The bank account of the deceased is frozen and you need to access the funds to pay the funeral expenses. Our counsellor will be able to give you all necessary documents in order to access the funds.
