DELANEY, Estelle Joan
1937 - 2017.
In her 81st year, Joan, loving sister of Barbara (Kevin) and George (Gale), long-time and beloved partner of Charlie and loving aunt to Michael (Francine), Robert (David), Joanne (Kristina), Gregg (Eileen), David (Heather) and Michael (Ursula) and grand-aunt (Michael, Juliet and Deen), passed away peacefully in Montreal on October 3, 2017. Joan was born in Quebec City in 1937 to Theresa Emanuella Hayden and Reginald O'Brian Delaney.
Auntie Joan will be missed by her nieces and nephews and was like our second mom. She will also be missed by her many friends. She spent many years caring for her mother. Auntie Joan was a very active woman who loved swimming, golf and skiing.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of life, her laugh, and her ever-present smile. Joan was dearly loved by all of us and will be sadly missed. Rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon you.
The family would like give special thanks to Bing her care companion, and to the staff and doctors at Maimonides Residence for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society.
Family will receive condolences at Kane and Fetterly, 5301 Decarie Blvd.(corner Isabella), Montreal, QC H3W 3C4, on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2 to 5 pm. Funeral service will be in St. Richard's Church, 7070 Guelph Street, Cote St Luc, Quebec, on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11:00, followed by a burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Quebec City next to her Mom and Dad at a later date.
