The guide "What to do in the event of death"

The death of a loved one is made more difficult by the need to deal with pressing administrative tasks. In order to assist grieving people with these administrative tasks, Services Québec publishes the guide What to Do in the Event of Death. The guide describes the main obligations that must be met, deadlines to respect and government departments and agencies to contact. The first part of the guide also suggests a number of steps people can take in advance.

The guide is available on the Québec government portal at http://www.deces.info.gouv.qc.ca/en/index.asp where you will also find many useful forms and links. A PDF version is also available on the Website and can be downloaded free of charge. You may purchase the guide from Les publications du Québec.
