What Makes Us Different

Family owned and operated since 1965

As owners, Bridget Fetterly and Paolo Bassi are present every day, working closely with the team.

Their hands-on involvement shapes the way Kane Fetterly care for families — with warmth, accountability, and a deep personal touch. We treat every family the way we’d want our own to be treated — with kindness, honesty, and respect.

One Person, Start to Finish

Each family is supported by a single dedicated counselor throughout the entire process.

This continuity provides comfort and creates a genuine connection that helps families feel understood and supported every step of the way.

What Makes Us Different

A Culture of Care

Our company culture reflects our owners’ values: respect, compassion, and a personal touch.

Since 1965, being part of Kane & Fetterly has meant continuing a tradition that puts families first and makes a real difference in their lives.

What Families Experience

What makes us different isn’t just the services we provide — it’s the way we provide them.

We work together with a strong spirit of collaboration. This teamwork allows us to provide consistent, compassionate care that families truly notice and appreciate.

“My father built this business by offering exceptional service on a very wholesome level,” explains Bridget Fetterly. “We continue this mission by guiding people through one of life’s most difficult times with the very best in expertise and loving hand-holding support.”

When our funeral counsellors help families to plan for a traditional or contemporary funeral service, families are free to choose only those services that are meaningful to them and within their financial means. You will never experience pressure.

I would like to share my sincere appreciation for the care and professionalism that I experienced with the team at Kane Fetterly during the recent passing of my aunt. This was a difficult time for our family, and their compassion and guidance made the process so much easier.
I am especially grateful to Christian, who assisted me throughout the arrangements. He was thoughtful, well organized, and communicated clearly every step of the way. His kindness and professionalism were truly comforting. If you are contemplating a place for your funeral needs, I recommend Kane Fetterly without any hesitation.

Unfortunately we lost both our parents last year within six months of each other. Kane and Fetterly were wonderful to work with.
Christian Haentzler is a kind and compassionate man who expertly guided us through the process twice. He was available to us at all times to answer questions and to consult with. Chris was present the days of the funerals and again guided us with gentleness and understanding. He handled the arrangements at the cemetery and accompanied us through that process as well. He is a true professional.
I would highly recommend Kane and Fetterly Funeral Home.

We had a wonderful experience with Kane Fetterly. Jezabel was particularly attentive to all of our requests, some of which were complex audio visual wise because some members of the family could not attend in person. All the staff we interacted with were wonderful and I would highly recommend them.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad Jezabel and the team were able to support your family’s needs. Your recommendation means a lot to us. Please reach out anytime if we can be of further help.

Since 1965

The Beginnings

In 1965, Thomas Kane sold his funeral home to young entrepreneur, Gary Fetterly.

Gary brought with him not only a strong business sense but also a deep understanding of the funeral profession, having learned the trade from his father, Hugh, who owned two funeral homes in the Montreal area.

Fully aware of the excellent reputation Kane had built over the years, Fetterly was committed to maintaining the same high standard of service for the community. Respecting that legacy, he simply added his own name to the business. Although Kane and Fetterly never worked together, the Kane Fetterly Funeral Home was born.

True to his promise, Fetterly quickly earned a reputation as one of Montreal’s most respected funeral directors, known for his dedication, compassion, and professionalism. After a long illness, he passed away, leaving behind a legacy of care that continues to define the funeral home today.

A Tradition of Care Since 1965

At Kane Fetterly, families experience genuine compassion and personal support — every step of the way.
