. 1926-2017,
. peacefully on October 9, 2017, at age 91.
. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia MacMillan Hansen, on August 3, 2017. Fred will be lovingly cherished and deeply missed by his children, Jack (Christine), Cathy, Frederick Michael (Malvene), grandson David Hansen (Sarah), and great-granddaughter, Lillian, step-children Sallie Baird (John Bannerman), William Baird, and step-grandchildren Brendan, Hailey and Devon Bannerman. Predeceased by his first wife Evelyn, sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Jim McNaughton, and parents Christian and Ella Hansen.
. Born in Denmark, Fred was proud of his Danish heritage. He spent the first half of his life in Winnipeg, where he was an active community member, devoted family man, avid curler and coached his sons' little league teams. He was proud to be a member of the R.A.F. and Freemasons. As part of his 40 year career with Ogilvie Flour Mills, he was transferred to Montreal in 1967. There, his greatest passions included gourmet cooking, Danish Club luncheons, travel and enjoying the simple pleasures of life with family and friends.
. He will be fondly remembered for his joy of life, integrity, kindness and generosity. He was a true gentleman.
. A special thank you to the caring staff and auxiliary of Father Dowd's Residential Centre where Fred and Patricia resided the past few years.
