Burke, Gerald Crawford
Passed away in Montreal on September 3, 2018 at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Katherine Johnson. Loving father of Kerry (Yan Lortie) and Lindsay (Josh Spence). Cherished grandfather of Quentin and Elliott.
Born in Montreal, he spent his childhood between skiing down McTavish Street and running in the fields of Clarenceville with his cousin, Derick. In his youth, he was a mischievous student at Lower Canada College and he played on several sports teams; including a period as a semi-professional hockey player.
He graduated from Law at McGill University in 1975 and he maintained his practice until very recently. He balanced his passion for Law with his love of Harley Davidsons, Volkswagen campers and the open road.
Gerry was an active member of his community, being involved for many years with the Free Masons, Sir George Williams Alumni Association, Prospect Belvedere and more recently with St. Patrick's Square. Gerry was blessed with many enduring friendships.
A funeral service will be held at the Kane and Fetterly Funeral Home Chapel, 5301 Decarie Blvd (corner Isabella) on Saturday, September 15th at 12:45pm.
Family will receive condolences from 11:00am-12:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp YMCA Kanawana Fund would be appreciated.

Gerry was a very kind person with a great sense of humour. Many of our legal discussions would end with long conversations about the Townships and our mutual acquaintances, along with stories about his many motor cycle trips. May he rest in peace in God's loving care, free of all illness. My Deepest Sympathy to his family of whom he spoke very fondly. Margaret

I was shocked to learn that Gerry has passed; we go back to grade 7 - 11 and later met up in Vancouver where his mom was living. He was always up-beat and chuckling, a trait I envied all my life.
Our condolences go to all the family, although I have never met you Kathy, nor your children.
Rest in Peace, Gerry.
