They searched for miles afar,
And deep within the distance
They could see a shining star.

I was so saddened to hear of Melissa's passing. She was only here at the Political Science dept. for a very short time but she already left a profound impression on me with her kind and generous personality. She always had time to ask about the family or share a comment on the affairs of the day. I will miss her terribly and can only imagine how profound that loss will be to those who knew her well.

Having worked with both of you, I am doubly saddened by Melissa's passing. I am sorry that you have lost your soul mate and are having to experience the pain of such a loss. When we ran into each other a couple of weeks ago, I was shocked to hear that she was not well but never realized how ill she really was. She was a vibrant and resourceful colleague and accomplished human being. My deepest condolences to you and to Melissa's family.

Through her natural grace, Melissa taught me to be a kinder, gentler person for which I am grateful. Melissa’s vivacious and welcoming greetings in phone calls will always be with me. Oh and those many wonderful shared times ...

It is with much sadness that I heard of Melissa's passing. I sadly did not get the chance to know her very well, but within the short time that I got to work with her at Concordia I felt her kind heart and sincerity was admirable. She brought such a lightness to an otherwise bleak office. Her laugh always resonated through the halls, and was always friendly. She will be dearly missed.
My sincerest condolences go out to her husband Chris and her loved ones.
