It is with extreme sadness that we announce Hy's passing on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Montreal Neurological Hospital.
Hy leaves behind cherished daughter Sophie, former spouse/good friend Valerie, best friend Elliott along with many other dear friends.
Hy mastered whatever he took on in life. He was an amazing father to Sophie, a dedicated teacher and tutor to many and an excellent tennis player. Hy had an illustrious tennis career; he held provincial and national rankings at the senior level for many decades and represented Canada Internationally on two occasions. Gentle, kind, positive, patient, honest are just a few of Hy's many attributes that made him one truly fine human being. He will be dearly missed by so many and never forgotten.
A great big thank you for the tireless efforts of the caring and compassionate staff at the Montreal Neurological Hospital notably the Stroke and Intensive Care units as well as the Neuro Palliative Care Team.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Neurological Institute & Hospital for research into Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Hy's life will take place at The Monkland Tennis Club, 4225 Royal Avenue, Montreal, QC H4A 2M4 on Sunday, September 8 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
