Samuel Marom was born in Lodz Poland on September 15th 1927.
He then grew up in Tel Aviv Israel where he spent the earlier part of life and migrated to the US around 1969 and finally settled in Montreal, Quebec in 1970 where he spent the rest of his life.
A business owner in the textile industry and a fitness enthusiast who was passionate about exercise and would spend 5 plus days a week at the gym up until his 91st year. Some of his favorite things were; calamari, red chilean wine, martinis and dining at his friend's greek restaurant on Prince Arthur.
Sam was described by most people who knew him as a 'legend'. "They don't make people like him anymore" was what his friends, family and people who knew him would say about him. A positive and kind soul who always had a story or a joke to share. Even in difficult times he always seemed to look at the bright side and find the humor in life. After 92 years of almost perfect health his health began to slowly decline and he passed away on November 29th 2019 at 3:07pm with multiple health complications to his heart, kidney and lungs.
He will be greatly missed by his girlfriend of 35 years Suzanne Nolet, three children Natalie Dalia Marom, Revital Marom, Ronen Oliver Marom (Dr Santhi Periasamy) grandchildren Zayne Eran Marom, Nila Visa Marom, Nephew Alon Marom, grand nephew Michael Marom, ex wife and mother of two of his children Christel Somnitz and many other friends and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at Kane and Fetterly 5301 Decarie (corner Isabella) on Monday December 9th at 3pm with Welcoming/Visitation/Shiva at 2pm. Valet parking will be available.
