Patricia Ruth Weaver Coleman 1953 – 2020
Pat passed away peacefully after a long struggle with Multiple Systems Atrophy on March 14, 2020 at the age of 67.
She leaves behind her husband Frederick Coleman, our son Jonathan and his wife Samantha; sister Sharon, and nieces Kimberly and Kristina Bittermann, and Pat’s brothers James and Michael. Pat leaves behind her numerous friends and co-workers from the Royal Victoria Hospital and the health care profession.
Pat was a nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital for over 35 years, until her retirement. She was a total professional with integrity to the nursing profession and the medical needs of all those who were under her care.
Pat loved life and travel, and she was loved by her friends and acquaintances from New Smyrna Beach, to Wisconsin, to France and to Scotland. Our family went to New Smyrna Beach, Florida every year for over 30 years and always had a relaxing time meeting old friends and making new ones. We also loved to travel numerous times each year to Burlington, Vermont to shop. We enjoyed a walk along Lake Champlain shore and along Church Street and a stop at Ken’s Pizza for Coors or Sam Adams for their great pizza. At home in NDG, Pat loved her garden and taught our family how to care for the plants and we try to live up to her standards. On behalf of our family, I wish to express our deepest thanks and respect to Dr. Golda Tradounsky and all the nurses and support staff at Mount Sinai Hospital Palliative Care. Everyone contributed to help Patricia and our family get through this very difficult period.
A memorial service will be held at Kane Fetterly. Date and times to be announced when conditions allow for a gathering of friends at the service in her memory. Details will be distributed once available.
