Peter George Vodstrcil
June 11, 1941 – January 18, 2021
Peter passed away peacefully at home in his 80th year in Montreal, the last of a family who fled Eastern Europe to make a new home in Canada in the darkest days of WWII. He was predeceased by his father Tomo in 1984, his brother Andrew in 2003 and his mother Herta in 2014. Peter enjoyed a happy childhood in The Linton Apartments and lived independently for most of his adult life although he suffered from bouts of mental illness. He will be remembered by a small coterie of caregivers and friends who admired his spirit and tenacity. In view of the pandemic, a private grave side service will be held in the spring. Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to The Douglas Hospital Foundation.
