Peacefully at home in Montréal surrounded by loved ones, at 12:48 in the morning of March 9th 2021 at the very end of one of his favorite movie "Once Upon a Time..in the West, the man who portrayed 'Jack Rudd the horse thief and highwayman' in end of term plays - Arthur Evelyn Cumberbatch or Rudd as he was also known - took his Final curtain call.
Leaving behind his children Andrea (Sylvain), Stacey, Sebastien (Carme), Karin-alexys (Denis), his beloved grandchildren Jamal, Malik, Noah and the pearl of his eyes his sweet girl Lennie; his loving brothers Leroy (Merlene) and Vernon; his adoring nieces, nephews their children and grandchildren who all knew him simply as 'Uncle'. His best mates, pals and friends: countless special relationships and bonds Rudd held dear with so many, who are deeply saddened by his passing.
A man of honor, humility, class, respect, grace, confidence, humour, knowledge, loyalty and love. Whether you called him Arthur or Evelyn, EC, or Rudd or Brother, Uncle or Dad - he was always there when called, with a smile and a helping hand, a kind word, encouragement or a cheer. Never impulsive and always measured, he was leveled in his countenance, his walk and his words. His was a lifelong friendship once offered.
He will be greatly missed. He has left us to join his Heavenly family who have gone before him and are waiting with open arms (Justine, Miss Mena, Bethany, Hugh, Clarence, Berrita, Edward, Beatrice, Undean, Joyce and Elaine).
A virtual service will be held on March 21st 2021 at 1pm hosted on the website of Www.kanefetterly.qc.ca
