Private funeral
A caring uncle passed away on March 3rd, 2021. He will be reuniting with his wife, Anne Lapointe. His nieces Brenda and Beverley, his nephews Robert, John, Kyle, Trevor, Pat, and Neil, and his sister-in-law Louise will miss his great stories and his jokes.
He was the last child of Elizabeth Benoit and Cornelius McCarney, brother to Eugene, Patrick, Frank, Rita, Michael and Anthony.
He faithfully took care of his niece, Brenda, who was raised from infancy by his family, up to the point where he was no longer able to. Nelson, Anne, and Brenda would often spend several winter months in Tampa, Florida.
This proud irishman worked worthily for CN Rail, as did his father and many of his brothers, until his retirement. He loved to golf, especially at the Lafleur Golf Club in Kahnawake, where he also enjoyed having a meal.
Due to COVID restrictions and risks, a private funeral will be held. Any donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
