It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Teresa on October 25, 2021. A true warrior, she combatted Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis for years with courage, strength, determination, and a relentless sense of humour that won everyone over, even in her final days. She leaves behind her adoring: husband Giorgio; children Luigi (Piera), Angela (Sandro), and Maria; grandchildren Amanda, Giorgio, Anthony, Alessia, and fur-granddaughter Greta; sister Lily; niece Romina; and extended family and friends, including childhood friends Rosaria and Rosemary. The peaceful end to her suffering marks her reunion with her dear parents Maria and Francesco, and sister Josie. We thank her team of medical professionals: Dr. Agulnik, Dr. Gyger, Dr. Hirsch, respiratory therapists and secretaries at the JGH; Dr. Assayag (MGH); Haleesa (CIUSSS-CO); Denise and Flavie (HMR); and the JGH Palliative Care team, particularly Helen, Suzie, Dr. Abecassis and Dr. Zigby. Teresa’s life will be honoured via a visitation at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home (5301 Decarie Blvd.) on Sunday, October 31st from 1:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m., and a funeral at Eglise Notre-Dame-de-la-Defense (6800 Henri-Julien) on Monday, November 1st at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, the JGH’s Pulmonary Diseases Fund, or to HMR’s Pulmonary Department, are encouraged.
