Holloway, Merle Evelyn Scott
August 28, 1945 to January 19, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Merle after a courageous battle with cancer. She left in peace for her final destination surrounded by close friends and family. Daughter of the late Albert Holloway and the late Muriel Scott Holloway, Merle leaves to mourn her loving spouse, Leah, her sons Scott Eastwood (Karina), Shane Eastwood and her brother Wilfrid (Claudette). She will be sadly missed by her grandsons Christopher and Damien, and nieces Kristina (Tom) and Cinthia (Laurent), cousins and great nieces and great nephews.
The latter part of Merle’s working career was dedicated to transporting children for the former PSBGM and the LBPSB, a passionate calling she cherished. She was a kind and gentle soul, willing only to see the good in people. Thanks go to Dr. Nicholas, Dr Amjadi, and Dr Cross of the Ottawa Hospital and all the wonderful staff of the Cancer Centre and Fifth Floor West.
Special thanks to Dr Lee Reichman, an exceptional, caring soul.
A Celebration of Merle’s Life will be held on February 9, 2019 at St James United Church, 463 St Catherine St. West, Montreal. The family will receive condolences at 10:30 am with a service at 11:00. Reception to follow. In honour of Merle, donations may be made to the Ottawa Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or Lung Cancer Canada.
