Dr. Gail GAUTHIER (Faille)
Died on march 24th 2019, leaving in deep sorrow her husband, Claude Faille, lifelong companion, adventure seeker, soulmate and finally, gentle caregiver. She will be sadly missed by brother Gary (Rhonda), nephews Craig (Stephanie) and Brian (Tanya); sister Glenna (Larry), niece Andrea and nephew Patrick.
Gail earned her DEC in Nursing at Dawson College and first worked in Neurology and the Surgical Intensive Care at the Montreal General Hospital. While working part time SICU, Gail earned her Bachelor's in Community Health at Concordia University and Master's in Counselling Psychology from McGill. She then worked as a therapist in Oncology, followed by Behaviour Therapy Service, also at the Montreal General Hospital. The major part of her career was working as a therapist, then as a Director of the Addictions Unit, Griffith Edwards Centre, McGill University Health Centre. With the support of colleagues, staff and the mentorship of Dr. Kathryn Gill, Gail earned her Ph.D. in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry in 2005. She retired from the Addictions Unit in 2014 and was conducting therapy in private practice from 2014 to the present.
Sincere appreciation to all the family, friends in Montreal and out of town who have provided support and caring through this trying period. Special thanks to Dr. Donna Stern and the Oncology team at St. Mary's.
In lieu of flowers, please send Donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, to be directed to 3rd Floor Oncology Unit. Family will receive condolences on Sunday March 31st from 1PM to 3PM at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Parlour, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella). A service will follow at 3PM. Light refreshments will be served on site after the service.
