ROBERT MICHAEL McGREGOR ROY June 10, 1942 – June 30, 2019 It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Robert (“Bob” or “Rob”) Michael McGregor Roy, at the age of 77, on Sunday, June 30, 2019 following a tragic accident in Tokyo, Japan on May 23, 2019. Only son of Muriel (née Michel) and Gregor Roy, both predeceased, of Sudbury, Ontario. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Marilyn Piccini, his cherished only son, Matthew MacGregor Roy of Ottawa, Ontario, his dear daughter-in-law Caroline Marie Brisson, and his only and beloved granddaughter Émilie Anne Roy. Deeply missed by caring sister-in-law Sharon Piccini Murphy (Paul predeceased) and his niece Megan Murphy, both of Sudbury, Ontario, and his nephew Michael Murphy (Dustine) and his great-nephews Lucas and Patrick Murphy, all of Interlochen, Michigan, and other family members, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Esteemed professor of biology and administrator at Concordia University, who began his career at Sir George Williams University in 1970 and retired in 2016. Funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Basilica, 460 René-Lévesque Blvd. W., Montreal on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Sudbury, Ontario.
