On Friday, January 17th, 2020 Julia Donovan Maitland went for her morning walk as she did most days. She had spent the previous week visiting with her three boys where her quick sassy banter surfaced again and again. She was tired though and needed more rest; entertaining and caring for others was becoming harder and harder over the past few months. On this, her last walk she drew her final breath.

Julia lived on her terms, she loved fiercely, laughed easily, and was always looking for that next adventure – she always said she had ants in her pants.

When she was called to her eternal rest, she was ready – ready to rejoin her loving husband Ellie, her daughter June who had been taken too soon as well as her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her eldest daughter Joan, her three boys Dennis, Geoffrey and Eric, her six grandchildren Anthony, Paul, Kayla, Alexander, Courtney and Nigel and her three great-grandchildren William, Finley and Freya.

We all loved her deeply, and we will miss her sound wisdom but if we listen closely, her whispers will continue to echo in our hearts.
Contributions in her honour to Jewish General Hospital or Alzheimer society would be appreciated at https://www.jghfoundation.org/en/donations/products or https://alzheimer.ca/en/Home
