Elizabeth Lesley MacLeod (born Lancaster) died peacefully surrounded by family on January 20th, 2020.
She leaves behind her husband Iain, three children, Deborah (Olaf), Sheila (Alex) and David (Catherine) as well as her five grandchildren, Desirée, Renée, Benjamin, Sonja and Kirk.
Lesley was a much-loved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Lesley was raised in the village of Lilliesleaf in the Scottish Borders.
She moved to Canada with her husband and young daughter in 1970 where she specialized in early elementary education, holding degrees in both education and fine arts. Lesley enjoyed a nearly 40-year career as a primary school teacher, spending the majority of that time at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Lachine, Quebec.
Lesley actively contributed to her community as a volunteer and Board member.
She was extremely generous with both her time and money in support of organizations too numerous to list.
Lesley was a life-long learner, avid sports fan and keen painter who particularly loved children, animals and the Olympics.
Above all, Lesley was a good, kind person who had an excellent sense of humour.
She will be fondly remembered by her family, friends and the many lives she touched in both Scotland and Canada.
Funeral services will be held at Kensington Presbyterian Church at 6225 Godfrey avenue, Montreal, Quebec at 3pm on Saturday, January 25th, 2020.
