“Time to go!”

George Allan Tramley, of Pointe Claire, QC, passed away on September 28th, 2020.

He was born to parents Millard and Mary Tramley on August 17th, 1929 in Fredericton Junction, NB. Brother to Kathie, Ted, Mim (Jean), Bobby (Elaine), and Diane (Bruce). After graduating from the University of New Brunswick in Forestry Engineering, he spent a year travelling around Europe in one of the first VW Beetle.

He is survived by the love of his life Barbara (nee Lane). They were married for 59 wonderful years. They were parents to Allan, Patricia (Matt), and Stephen (Desta).

They had the pleasure of spoiling nine grand kids – Peter, Chloe, Bobby, Nicholas, Elyssa, Mark, Pryor, Sara Emilie, and Brynn.

A true blue Maritimer, Allan always loved the ocean (trying paddleboarding at 80!) and would head to Richibucto every summer to enjoy great visits with all of his siblings.

As a business entrepreneur Allan started and ran Fabritek for over three decades, having a positive impact on all those who came into contact with him. Helping and supporting people around him, Allan was known as an old school gentleman in business and expert in the art of networking.

Despite all of his accomplishments in business, Allan always considered his greatest success to be his family. He put others interests ahead of his own even at times to his own detriment. He would attend all of his children’s games and activities and provide the most wonderful vacations throughout the years in Maine, Florida and his favorite spot Smugglers’ Notch. Feeling lucky to have all of his 9 grandchildren close by, he took an avid interest in their lives teaching them to always look on the bright side of life and most of all to take the time to appreciate what you have.

Given the fantastic care that Allan received at Lachine Hospital the family would love for donations to go to the Lachine Hospital Foundation (www.lachinehospitalfoundation.org) in lieu of flowers.

A funeral service was held on October 1st at St Edmund’s parish for the immediate family. A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at a later date.
