We, the Samuel family, the DeFreitas family and Clement family and the many friends of Carmen are saddened by her passing on Friday May 14th, 2021 at the age of 105 years. 

Carmen was the 5th of six children of Joseph de Freitas who emigrated from Madeira, Portugal to live in Trinidad. 

She came to Canada at the behest of her younger brother Errol Clement in 1963 who had young children and needed someone to care for them while he and his wife were at work. However when the children became of age and she was no longer needed, Carmen, always willing to help, became a Nurses Aid and worked as such at the Montreal General Hospital until her retirement. 

We will miss our dear aunt, sister, cousin and friend Carmen and may she rest in eternal peace. 

A private memorial service will be held in her honour on Saturday May 25th, 2021. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Volunteer Association of C.H.S.L.D. Vigi Reine-Elizabeth Inc.
