It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Wayne Collins born May 5, 1954, in Truro Nova Scotia. He was the son of the Late Dorothy Collins He is survived by his daughter Angela Tara Marie and his brothers Carmen and Derold Collins, several aunts, uncles, cousins and so many loving friends.

David was a gentle soul loved by so many. He would protect all his little cousins at the drop of a dime while growing up in Cote Des Neiges. He was very proud of his daughter and was always helping and supporting his aunts.

He loved all sports, bowling, hockey, golf etc. Very athletic and skilled in Jiu Jitsu. David was kind, loving, compassionate, and non-judgemental. David was never critical of anyone, and he was very understanding and a good listener.

David was blessed to have another family, the Narcotics Anonymous Fellowship. His home group was Step by Step from 1995 till he passed. He was very involved and supportive to all he sponsored or encountered.

David would say to every person he greeted, “Has anybody told you they love you today?” His response was always“I love You”.

David had an infectious smile and a beautiful spirit that captivated anyone he crossed paths with. He will be forever remembered and greatly missed by all, especially those who sought his advice and guidance.

It is hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.

You may be gone from our sight but never are you gone from our hearts.

Messages pour la famille de Collins, David

De: Wilma Ditchfield

I know this is late - but I just discovered that David passed away.

David has a special place in my heart - we were a couple way back - almost 50 years ago. He is/was an important part of my life/journey. I had the good fortunate to meet with David in Montreal in 2012 - a gentle soul that experienced much pain and turmoil in his life. My last interaction with David was November 2021.

I loved and still love David. I am heartbroken. But I am a better person for having known David. Has someone told you today that you are loved? I felt that love.

My heartfelt condolences to Derold and Carmen.
