Gaetane ( Gail) Ayotte. Nov. 7 1946 – Jan. 9 2022

It is with deep consternation and sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Gaetane following multiple cancers diagnosed on Dec. 31st last.

She was the only child of the late Emile and Beatrice Ayotte. Gaetane is lovingly remembered by close friends Donald and Sylvia Coté Dupuis, class mate Carole-Anne Dupuis Jackson, Calgary. Donna and Klaus, along with numerous special friends.Cherished Auntie of Amanda Jackson Burdick of Calgary, Kinley Jackson of Vancouver.  Great Auntie to Rhys and Brielle Burdick .

Early in her career she was a loyal employee of Texaco Canada and 3M Corporation. Being a free spirit she left the corporate world and moved to Ottawa where she purchased her beloved 1971 MGB which Donald has to this day. She eventually moved on to Calgary and then on to Saskatoon where she worked in the home renovations industry for several years.

When possible she would spend several winter months in warm climates such as the Caribbean. Upon her return to Montreal in the late nineties she worked attending to senior ladies for several years.

In 1998 Donna, Klaus and Gaetane formed “ Greyhound Adoption “. They held meet and greet sessions every weekend throughout the summer months for twenty years. Their goal was to educate the public and assist those who adopted these beautiful animals.

We are eternally grateful to Dr. Stefanie Gingras, care provider Madge along with the nurses and staff. Our gratitude for the magnificent care afforded our dear Gaetane during her brief stay.

At the request of the deceased cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

If you wish, contributions in Gaetane’s memory may be made to the 10th South Pod Palliative Care Unit c/o The Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation.
