What Makes Us Different
A Culture of Care
Our company culture reflects our owners’ values: respect, compassion, and a personal touch.
What Families Experience
What makes us different isn’t just the services we provide — it’s the way we provide them.
“My father built this business by offering exceptional service on a very wholesome level,” explains Bridget Fetterly. “We continue this mission by guiding people through one of life’s most difficult times with the very best in expertise and loving hand-holding support.”
When our funeral counsellors help families to plan for a traditional or contemporary funeral service, families are free to choose only those services that are meaningful to them and within their financial means. You will never experience pressure.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Kane & Fetterly for their exceptional service during an incredibly difficult time. From the very first interaction, their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail were evident. They handled every aspect of my Mama’s cremation and ceremony with the utmost care and respect, ensuring that all of our wishes were honored.
A special thank you to Christian Haentzler, who went above and beyond his duties to make this process as smooth and comforting as possible. His empathy, kindness, and dedication were a source of solace for my family. Every detail was handled seamlessly, from the initial arrangements to the beautiful ceremony that truly honored my Mama’s memory.
The team at Kane & Fetterly exemplified excellence in all the key aspects one would hope for in such moments—compassion, organization, clear communication, and an unwavering commitment to honoring our loved one. Their care and expertise made all the difference, and I cannot thank them enough.
I wholeheartedly recommend Kane & Fetterly to anyone in need of funeral services. They are not only professionals but also genuinely caring people who provide a sense of peace during one of life’s most challenging times.
Thank you once again for everything.
Your kind recommendation means the world to us. We are very grateful.
We lost our aunt and uncle within two months of each other. Since I live out of the country, and there was no obvious next of kin paperwork available at the time, Brian took it upon himself to assist my uncle after his wife's passing, going so far as to bring him to the service and gather photos. He did not have to take this task upon himself, but he did.
When my uncle's broken heart reunited him with my aunt not even two months later, Brian heard of his passing and once again came forward to assist with a respectful burial, even believing there was a possibility of no family to assist.
Brian went above and beyond with the most incredible heart, ensuring every detail was what he believed was my uncle's wishes.
Once our family was located and informed, Brian kept me in contact and helped me arrange a proper funeral. He assisted me with everything from the significant details to the most minor ones, including recommending hotels and restaurants. Brian also arranged for us to have the service online for family overseas. He even took one of our guests home after the service.
If you ever worry about whether your loved ones are in good hands with Brian, and Kane & Fetterly, be assured they provide compassionate services honestly and respectfully.
Thank you, Brian. I am forever grateful.
Since 1965
The Beginnings
In 1965, Thomas Kane sold his funeral home to young entrepreneur, Gary Fetterly.
Gary brought with him not only a strong business sense but also a deep understanding of the funeral profession, having learned the trade from his father, Hugh, who owned two funeral homes in the Montreal area.
Fully aware of the excellent reputation Kane had built over the years, Fetterly was committed to maintaining the same high standard of service for the community. Respecting that legacy, he simply added his own name to the business. Although Kane and Fetterly never worked together, the Kane Fetterly Funeral Home was born.
True to his promise, Fetterly quickly earned a reputation as one of Montreal’s most respected funeral directors, known for his dedication, compassion, and professionalism. After a long illness, he passed away, leaving behind a legacy of care that continues to define the funeral home today.
