Troy Antony Cornford

   May 25, 1963-December 2, 2024

Following a difficult battle with ALS, Troy Antony Cornford passed away on December 2, 2024 at 61 years of age.

Predeceased by his parents, Anthony Leonard Tindall Cornford and Marie Gertrude Kennedy, Troy was a beloved husband to Jacqueline Natalie Hall and adoring father to his children Tiernan, Regan and Tristan.  Troy leaves behind his loving sister Kelly Cornford and brother in-law Peter Hoogeveen.  Troy will be greatly missed by brother in-law Neil Hall (Elena Vander Meer) , brother-in law Gregory Hall ( Georgia Milonakos) and nieces Callista, Shia, Skylar and nephew Amilyon.

Growing up in Chateauguay Troy had a life long love for sports.  He played basketball in his youth and later became known to many as “Coach Troy”.  Troy’s passion for the sport led him to encourage boys and girls to explore their interest in basketball and develop their skills.  In 1994, his gregarious personality enabled him to find meaning and a notable place at the Jewish General Hospital as a Beneficiary Attendant. Troy spent 30 years there and was looking forward to retirement on the beaches of his favourite island, beautiful Barbados.

Special thanks to the team at the Montreal Neurological Institute, Dr. Massie, nurse Toni and OT Kendra.  Special thanks to the palliative care team at the CLSC in Châteauguay, Dr. Prévost, all the nurses involved in Troy’s care, Arianne Savaria( OT) and Chantal Gauthier( respiratory therapist).

A heartfelt thank you to Ray Johnston,  Gregory Hall, Georgia Milonakos, Neil Hall and Elena VanderMeer and Peter Hoogeveen for always being there, just a phone call away.  To Kelly Cornford, thank you for your patience, constant presence and unconditional love.
