Obituary
Noreen Hynes
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Noreen Hynes, in her ninetieth year, after a brief but valiant struggle.
She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth for 56 years, and was predeceased by her son Patrick. She was the much loved Mom of Donna (Ken Slade), Kevin, Diann (Don Cere), Brendan (Line Deschamps), and Katherine. She was the beloved Granny of Sister Marie Therese (S.O.L.I.), Michelle (Adrian Droogh), Dillon, Nicole, Ryan and Kayla, and the Great-Granny of AJ, Gibson, Fletcher and Kinsley. She is also survived by her sister Patricia (late Bernie McManus), her sister-in-law Bernice, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Born in Montreal, she resided here all her life. She was the daughter of Mary McMullen and John Henry, and the youngest of her large family. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Frank (Edith), Leo (Kay), Mae (Jim Gallacher) John, Kay (George Prolas), Danielle (Marjory), and D’Arcy (Joan). She was the sister-in-law of Rita (Lorne Collins), Harold (Olga), Bernard (Jackie), Donald (Lottie), Phyllis (Maurice Daigneault), and Ronald, all deceased.
In her working life, she was a book-keeper, and was employed by Dalfen’s Limited for many years. A devout Catholic, she made three overseas pilgrimages, to Israel, Turkey and Italy. Her life was centred around her church, St. Ignatius, and she will be missed by her many good friends there, especially the ladies who brunched after Mass on Thursdays. We are very thankful to Father Michael Leclerc and Father Lou for their pastoral care at this time.
