Carmen Callender (née Drayton)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen Ometa Callender (nee Drayton).
Beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Carmen was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and was always ready to lend a hand, give advice or share a laugh.
She led her life through faith and relationship with God.
Born in Barbados in 1930, Carmen left Barbados for England in 1961 but decided to come to Canada in 1964. A retired registered nurse, Carmen studied at Vanier College, sang in her church choir, and dedicated 35 years of her life as a Lay Reader at St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
Carmen leaves behind her sister Rita Braithwaite, her two sons, Rawle Emerson Dottin, (Toni Blades-Dottin), Sylvain Edgar Dottin (Addis Lessey-Dottin). Her Grandchildren, Cynthia, David, Kyle, Shauna, Michael, Spencer, Maxwell, and Leah. Her great Grandchildren Myles, Noamie, David Jr, and Stella-Rose, as well as many nephews and nieces.
The visitation entrusted to Kane & Fetterly, 5301 Decarie blvd, Montreal, QC, H3W 3C4 on Friday, January 26th, 2024, 6:00PM to 10:00PM. Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at 10:00AM will be a period of condolences followed by the service at 11:00AM at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 3970 Chem. de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, Quebec, QC H3T 1E3. The burial will take place at Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery, at 12:30PM, 4239 Bd des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2A6.
