We are heartbroken to share that Peggy O’Connell (née Ermekeil) gently and peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on March 10, 2025. Peggy was born to the late Rachel Ratcliffe and Hans Ermekeil on October 9, 1937 in Montréal. Loved sister of her late siblings, Dorothy, Betty, Russell, Patty, Frank and Donnie. Married to the late Thomas James O’Connell, they raised 6 children Lorraine (Dan), Belinda, Brian (Christine) Ross, Constance (Ron) and the youngest daughter Joy who passed away in March of 2021. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc-André), Mathieu (Stephanie), Stéphanie (Tash), Amanda, Eric (Sarah), Kevin, Andrew, Bailey (Gareth) and Mark and grand-children Maverick and Eloise.
               From raising children to community involvement Peggy was a constant reminder that love, compassion and time were the best gifts to share with everyone we meet. While accompanied by her children or grand-children, going on walks, flying out to Ontario, Los Angeles, Vegas or the Dominican, she was hilariously known for taking the silliest photos stemmed from the imagination of her grand-children and children alike.

              The pain we feel is a compliment to how important she was in our lives and our happiness. She may be gone but will never be forgotten and her gifts will be shared for generations to come.
