Jean Blondina Lynch-Matthew

June 28, 1949 – March 18, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Blondina Lynch-Matthew on Saturday, March 18, 2025 at the age of 75. Jean will be deeply missed by her loving husband, family and friends.
Jean Blondina Lynch-Matthew was born on June 28th, 1949, on the island of Antigua. She was the fourth child born to Alphonso Lynch Sr. and Drucilla Lynch.
In 1978, Jean moved to Montreal where she worked as a Nanny and Caregiver. She later joined Cilonex, where she met the love of her life, Hermon Matthew. They were married on July 23, 1994, and have been inseparable ever since. Jean was known for her sense of humor, genuine care for others and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Above all, she was devoted to her husband of 30 years and her supportive family.
In 1996, Jean was diagnosed with a herniated disk, which led to her early retirement. In the years that followed, she was diagnosed with colon cancer, which went into remission but returned in 2024 with a diagnosis of lung cancer. Despite her health challenges, Jean's strength and resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her. She passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Drucilla and Alphonso Lynch Sr., as well as her sisters Heatherlina Detouche, and Yolanda Lynch, and her brother Alphonso Lynch Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Hermon Matthew, her attentive siblings Christophene Lynch, Patelina Joseph, Eustace Lynch, Eworth Lynch, Mable Thomas, Byron Lynch, and Lawrence Lynch. In addition to numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Jean will be missed but never forgotten. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts! May her soul rest in eternal peace in the hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
