PARKER Gerald Alfred (Gerry)
Passed away peacefully at his residence on February 20, 2019 aged 85 years old.
Survived by his beloved companion Bernice Checketts (nee Daoust), his son Charles, his nephew James McQuillan, and his friend and advisor Terence McQuillan, as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Gerald was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Signal Corp), having served as a member of the regular forces from February 28, 1957 to March 9, 1960 as a peacekeeper during the Suez Canal Crisis, the militia from September 13, 1962 to September 3, 1963, as well as in the reserve from March 18, 1967 to May 20, 1969. He was a member of the Canadian Association of Veterans of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces (Major Général Alain R. Forand Branch) and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (St-Eustache Branch 185). Special thanks to the Management and Staff of Le Boulevard for their care and compassion in Gerald’s declining years.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 12 pm at the Kane Fetterly Funeral Chapel, 5301 Decarie Bvld. (corner Isabella). Family will receive condolences two hours prior to service. Interment at Mount-Royal Cemetery.
