Born in Calgary in 1972, married on Paros Island in 2000, and Montreal resident since 2011, Stéfan Sinclair was the proud papa of Naomie, Élodie and his canine Choco (the furriest of the three) and the affectionate husband of Stephanie. Professor of Digital Humanities at McGill University, Stéfan received his master’s degree from the University of Victoria and his doctorate in French Literature from Queen’s University. Self-taught programmer and franco-albertan, Stéfan was a beautiful mix of internationally renowned scholar (the creator of Bon Patron and Voyant Tools), patient professor, and generous, unpretentious person. We will miss him terribly.

Messages for the Family of Sinclair, Stéfan

From: Kristian Littmann

I was terribly saddened to hear of Stefan’s passing and was recently reflecting on his departure. I have many fond memories of our time together in high school and later running into him from time to time at UBC. My thoughts are with all his family.
