It is with deep regret that I announce that Frances Balogh nee Smith passed away Wednesday, October 7 2020

she is survived by her loving sons Alexander and Brian and pre-deceased by Dennis Gillson her loving partner of over 28 years.

Frances passed peacefully in her sleep at home.

Frances will be remembered for her glowing character and effervescent spirit.

She was a smart gifted artist with a loving, caring soul.

For many years she was an active and well respected member of the Women’s Art Society of Montreal.

Her art piece the doll was featured at the Montreal museum of fine arts in 1972.

May the love and warmth of her spirit carry on through those she has known and touched through her beautiful life. Remains Mount Royal Cemetery

Messages for the Family of BALOGH, Frances

From: Barbara Fox

Dear Brian and Alex, I am deeply sorry for your loss. And I wish you all the best to carry on without her. I will miss her terribly myself, as we talked almost daily. We were both friends and each other’s confidant. I will miss hearing her voice and all the discussions we had. Again, my sincerest condolences. Be well. Take care.

To Brian and your family,

You are such a kind person, I can only assume that you inherited this from your mother and that losing her will be very sad. But think of the kindness you returned to her, and be grateful that you are so good at passing it on in many ways. In particular, through your kindness to Katia, Robin, Michael, me.

I tried to watch the service, but couldn't log on.

So sorry to learn (today) about Francis' death.
I knew her from the WASM group these many years past. We had worked on a few projects together.
