Dr. James Fresco PhD

September 29, 1926 – May 23, 2021

Dr. James Fresco PhD, of Montreal passed into eternal life on Sunday May 23, 2021 at Montreal General Hospital (MUHC), Montreal, he was 94.

Born on September 29, 1926 in Yonkers, New York, USA he was the oldest son of John and Lucy Fresco and the older brother of John B Fresco, New Jersey.

James Fresco was a professor of chemistry at McGill University from 1965 to 1992.  He loved teaching and doing research at McGill. For several years he would also donate his summers doing research with the US Navy in San Diego.  Some of his works have been published.  More recently he was an active member of the McGill University faculty club.

In his free time and throughout his retirement Jim enjoyed skiing, hiking and playing cards with his closest friends.  He was an avid family historian and kept in close contact with family members around the globe.  He loved to travel and read the Sunday New York Times.

He is survived by family, Sister-in-law Maryann Fresco (wife of his late brother John) nephew Sean C Fresco, wife Silvia, son’s John and Luke, Niece’s Cynthia Markham (Fresco) children Grace and Jack and Laura Denci (Fresco) husband Joseph, son’s Christopher, Johnathan and daughter Lauren.
